Malayalam Filmmaker Shoots Feature Film Entirely on DJI Osmo Pocket 3
KOCHI : In an unconventional approach to filmmaking, Malayalam filmmaker P.K. Ashokan has completed a Hindi feature film, Tattoo: The Graphica, shot entirely using the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera, according to a statement from Happy Tunes Media, the film’s production banner.
The production claims the film is the first Indian feature to have been shot exclusively with the compact camera, paired with professional anamorphic lenses and filters from K&F Concept and Neewer.
Rather than relying on the large camera systems commonly used in feature-film production, Ashokan and cinematographer Madhu Kavil opted for a compact imaging setup. The film uses the Osmo Pocket 3’s one-inch sensor alongside anamorphic optics to create a widescreen cinematic look.
The makers say the approach demonstrates an alternative to conventional camera setups and highlights the possibilities offered by compact imaging technology in feature filmmaking.
Ashokan has written, directed and produced the film under the Happy Tunes Media banner. Seven Raj and Sarthak Sharma are co-producers, while Kishore Arjun serves as creative director. Sulagna Chatterjee has written the screenplay and dialogues.
The film features vani vashishthh, Sanjay Shokin and Prakash Banjare in central roles. Rajeev Vashishth , Rajeev Shankar, Seven Raj, Vikas Kasliwal are also part of the cast.
The film was shot in Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kochi and Mumbai. The makers have also announced that a song from the film will be released soon.
